I would like to take this opportunity to share some thoughts with you on the evolution of our organization. The last few weeks, on several occasions, we often talked about "The Beating Heart of ubeon". Now, what does the image of "a beating heart" evoke, and how can it involve you?

Whenever an idea is born, it needs energy to become a reality. Almost by definition, this energy is emotional in nature. Maybe you also had an idea recently, but recognized you had to have a "feel" for it before you acted on it. Marketers often translate this to the well-known phrase: "Emotion leads to action". And this is exactly where our "beating heart" comes into play.

A few weeks ago, three ubeon Partners (Katleen, Philippe & Tony) got the idea to create a workshop together. Soon thereafter, they formed a collaborative Expert Group and about 5 meetings later, the workshop "Organizations in Motion" became marketable. They relied on Central Office to provide support for designing the layout and (re)writing the copy for the PDF brochure and the e-mail, which was sent to peers and contacts in Belgium and The Netherlands. Registration has already begun. Or as Philippe puts it:

"The emotional bond with the theme was there from the beginning. The three of us looked at it from different, complementary angles, whereby we really experienced that motion is the gate to learning! With this energy, the workshops will be thrilling! And Central Office was of great help to get the message out in an inspiring way."

In other Expert Groups people find themselves in similar experiences when the same structure is being used:

  1. Define the concept in a description or model.
  2. Formulate a roadmap to realize your idea and assign someone to take the lead.
  3. Create one or more concrete tools (exercises, surveys, scans, …)
  4. Create a workshop or seminar to flesh out the concept.
  5. Seek out examples, cases, stories that corroborate to your concept. Publish these on your blog, in expert articles, a white paper or even a book.
  6. Market your new proposition and attract interest from peers.

This way the Expert Group CSR has developed a deep understanding of entrepreneurial challenges towards Corporate Social Responsibility and will soon bring its own unique and innovative approach, supported by a solid model and many examples from the work field.

The Expert Groups are the beating heart of ubeon. And when you think about your own expertise and experience, you most likely would also be able to generate innovative ideas, together with others. Which would naturally attract interest of businesses.

We also notice a greater attraction of interest for our ubeon forums. The ubeon formula clearly catches on, and I would like to invite anyone to attend to our forums, or even to host a future forum yourself!

With warm regards,

for the whole community,

Stephan

ubeon forum "Mediation"

We have all lived the role of the mediator. Knowingly or not. However we can all play a more proactive role by applying mediation principles structurally and continuously. Philippe Awouters is an experienced mediator and lets us discover how our own thinking processus tricks us an how we can overcome such obstacles. From there, mediation enables people to bring themselves back to "speaking terms" with another and reach for better understanding and even improved collaboration. Philippe will show us how businesses can become more effective and efficient in their relations with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

This exclusive ubeon forum is open to Partners and Community Members, who can invite people from their network to participate.

Registration for this event is closed.

ubeon forum "Talent for Speaking"

Proficient public speakers present their message with passion, enthousiasm and energy. They inspire and stimulate their audience. They connect and keep you awake. Making clear and compelling presentations establishes a good reputation for the speaker. It enables you to enthuse others in your endeavours and helps your sales and relations.

As an experienced speach coach, Patrick Pittery offers "tricks and traps" for good public speaking and shows how you can make a jewel out of your upcoming presentation. His interactive workshop will be preceded by a testimonial from Mr. Dirk De Muynck, Communication and Media Relations Director for Volvo Group Representation EU.

The ubeon Academy will launch in March.

Anyone can get better in closing a deal. We all can develop new skills to perform better as a consultant, a trainer, a coach, a presenter. We can learn to think systemically. In short, by stretching our core competences we can improve our effectiveness. This is the mail goal of the ubeon Academy which develops skills and knowledge of Partners and Community Members.

Before the end of March, the ubeon Academy E.E.I.G. will be formed as a new body within the ubeon community. We welcome all who would like to contribute to this initiative. For more information, you can contact Stephan Vanhaverbeke (ubeon Belgium) or Hubert Van de Vyver (ubeon Luxembourg).
